Obstetrician & Gynecologist Obi Okafor, M.D., Joins StoneCrest Medical Staff
JANUARY 13, 2009StoneCrest Medical Center CEO Neil Heatherly welcomes obstetrician and gynecologist Obi Okafor, M.D. to the Rutherford County medical community. Dr. Okafor recently joined the practice of Afam Ikejani, M.D. and Prime Obstetrics and Gynecology in Smyrna. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of the University of Nigeria. He then completed an internship in obstetrics and gynecology before fulfilling his residency at Baystate Medical Center/Tufts University.
At StoneCrest, we are continuing to expand our maternity department to meet our communitys ever-increasing need, stated Heatherly. In addition to adding 26 medical/surgical beds and applying for a Certificate of Need for a NICU, we are recruiting new obstetricians to supplement these expanding services. Dr. Okafors experience and credentials make him a natural choice for this community and StoneCrests commitment to remarkable patient care.
